PORTLAND – Authorities are trying to identify a man who was reportedly taking pictures up a woman’s skirt at a Northeast Portland Ross store Sunday, Jan. 13, police said.

Karimina Salle-Bybee told police she noticed a man crouching behind her in the children’s section of the department store at 9916 NE Halsey Street, said Sgt. Pete Simpson with Portland police.

Salle-Bybee confronted the man, who was then asked to leave the store by an employee, Simpson said.

The employee said he observed the suspect bend down and attempt to take photos on his cell phone up the woman’s skirt.

"I didn't know how to react," said Salle-Bybee.  "I thought I was going to throw up in the beginning."

The suspect was described as a Hispanic man in his 30s, 5-foot-9, weighing 160 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and wearing black clothing.

"It's definitely a violation of somebody's privacy and their feeling of safety and security when they go into a public place," said Sgt. Simpson.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect was asked to call police.
