GARDEN CITY -- Police say a 37-year-old woman was injured in a drive-by shooting that happened early Friday morning on the 200 block of E. 44th Street.
Police say the woman was sleeping inside a trailer court residence around 5:30 a.m. when she was shot twice.
The woman was taken to a local hospital, and is reportedly in surgery for non-life threatening injuries.
A witness near the scene reported seeing a white, extended cab pickup truck -- possibly a Ford -- with a rack leaving the area at high speed about the time of the shooting.
Garden City Police Sgt. Jerry Walbey says the vehicle may or may not be related to the shooting.
Walbey said two other people were inside the trailer home at the time of the shooting, and neither were injured.
Detectives and police continue to investigate. Walbey says the shooting was likely an isolated incident.
Anyone with information about the shooting should call the Garden City Police Department at 208-472-2950.
