SPOKANE, Wash.-- Spokane Police arrested a man late Thursday after a pursuit with a motorcycle.

Charles Culp, 50, was driving recklessly around 10:30 p.m. and failed to stop for officers around Wellesley and Martin, said officers.  Culp drove to the area of Bigelow Gulch where he attempted to make his escape by riding his dirt bike up a mountainside to the southeast of Francis and Florida.

Officers tracked Culp and his motorcycle about two miles up the rugged terrain, where Culp again tried to flee.  However, a K9 dog was released and able to catch him.

Culp was taken to Deaconess Medical Center for minor injuries and then booked into the Spokane County Jail for Attempt to Elude and Possession of Controlled Substance.
