In spring the Sol Duc River in Olympic National Park boasts wild steelhead vaulting the Salmon Cascades waterfalls as they return to this river's cold, clean snowmelt and prime spawning areas. This amazing wild steelhead spectacle can be watched at the Salmon Cascades viewing platform in the Sol Duc River Valley. The Sol Duc River is now Washington State's first wild steelhead management zone — no more hatchery fish will be released into this river because the Sol Duc River has one of the largest, healthiest, naturally spawning wild steelhead populations in the state.

These are pictures of our resident Black Swan in our duck pond. Her name is Squeekers and she loves people and comes when called. She also loves to pose for the camera. I was feeding her and her duck friends but one duck was not interested in the spinach and just kept right on sleeping about a foot away. Squeekers also loves to "talk" to you. She will stretch our her neck and make the most adorable noises. Enjoy:)
