The 7th annual Magnolia Mom's Shop 'Til You Drop Trunk Show and Coat Drive has grown from an event that started off in a mom's living room to an event that a couple hundred moms look forward to each year. This year promises more than 30 vendors and local artists, a fashion show, and a silent action. To accommodate the shoppers, it will be held at the Our Lady of Fatima Parish Hall located at 3307 West Dravus Street in the Magnolia neighborhood.
"Last year Magnolia Mom's donated nearly $2,700 and more than 300 coats. What a great way to get into the holiday spirit," says Jenn Wathen, one of this year's event chairs. Bring a friend, enjoy a tasty treat, and get a jump start on your holiday shopping.
ADMISSION: One new or gently used children's coat or suggested $15 donation
All proceeds plus 10% of all Sales will be donated to Magnolia Moms to benefit several local Women's & Children's Shelters. The shelters include: Providence Hospitality House, the Catholic Community Services/Refugee Assistance, Sacred Heart Shelter on lower Queen Anne, The Harrington House in Bellevue, and St. Mary’s Food Bank in Seattle.
Magnolia Moms was founded 17 years ago through Our Lady of Fatima Parish as a neighborhood outreach program for homeless or displaced mothers in need. Since that time, through the dedication and hard work of a small but committed group of women the organization has increased its services such that is now serves the daily needs of thousands of women and children who otherwise have no means of support.
The Magnolia Moms Shop 'Til You Drop event coordinators are Susie Thompson and Amy Carolan and Jenn Wathen. For more information about Magnolia Moms Shop 'Til You Drop event, including the various vendors please visit http://www.magnoliamoms.org/shop2009.htm
