I had gone down to Portland for P.S.U's freshman orientation and stayed with some friends for the night. That evening we were out on their front porch when we saw a flash of lightning! The lightning storm lasted for hours, to the point where it didn't interrupt or distract us from our conversations! I grabbed my camera and set the exposure time to thirty seconds hoping to catch a strike, and after many tries I finally got the shot! It was a great "welcome gift" from Portland!
