My father John Bokk crashed his Super Cub in the mountains of Grangeville Idaho after leaving his cabin. He heard something pop and his plane went down on fire. Witnesses saw the fire and smoke and went to his aid. He was out of the plane when help arrived. He had jumped before the plane hit the ground. After getting medical attention at the site, he drove home to his wife in Winthrop, WA. This is an 8-9 hour drive. The next day he went to the hospital in Omak and the doctors said it was a miracle. He has broken ribs, broken elbow and broken toes.
He is 75 years old.
The Grangeville police dept/sheriff's office has record of this incident and probably pictures of the crash site. The plane is totally destroyed.
John Bokk is a previous resident of Kenmore, WA for 30 years and previous owner of Sunset Fiberglass Boat Repair company for 45 years in Kenmore, WA.
