I was afraid to move and was so glad I had my cell-phone in my pocket when I found this surreal scene. The rain had been falling gently all morning. Gently enough to allow these giant gems to collect like cabochons on a delicate peach-colored rose - the surface tension of each huge droplet seemed barely enough to retain the size and precarious cling they had on the petals and leaves of this lovely rose. It was as if a single additional raindrop could fall anywhere and cause a cascade. I snapped a couple photos of this, wishing I had a bit more resolution to share all of the glorious detail of this tense moment of beauty with everyone at NWCN. Happy Spring, Welcome Summer!
