MT. HOOD, Ore. -- Several inches of snow fell up at Timberline Lodge over the weekend, giving visitors an early taste of winter.
On Monday, the flakes continued to fall up and people from all over made the drive up to see it.
Walter and Peg Bradley, visiting from Austin, Texas, said they came up to Mt. Hood hoping to get a glimpse of Fall foliage.
Instead they got snow. But they weren't complaining.
"This is the most amazing scenery," Peg said. "Oregon is amazing. We love it."

Many people said they knew it was going to snow but were surprised by how much of it came down.
Some were prepared for it. Others were not.
"It's very cold. I'm freezing here," said Reeba Philip, who was visiting from Tulsa, Oklahoma, with her husband and son. "I should have brought gloves with me."
The mid-October snow also brought out the locals.
Skiers and snowboarders were excited to get a jump on their season.
"Last year we had to wait until Nov. 9, I think, was the first turns we got," said Eric Steven. "And now we're looking at Oct. 16. It's going to be awesome."
