Warmup Next Week

Happy Mother's Day! Moms across the Northwest should keep the umbrella handy today. Showers will be scattered around the region, especially west of the Cascades. Look for cooler highs, with temperatures reaching only the 50s to the west, with some 50s and 60s to the east.

East of the Cascades will see fewer showers today. But one of the issues here will be strong winds. The Kittitas Valley will see the strongest winds, but gusty winds will overspread much of the Columbia Basin and parts of eastern Oregon. Highs here will be cooler as well.

The light at the end of the tunnel begins Wednesday. A thermal trough will bring highs well into the 70s, and Thursday and Friday could see temperatures rocket into the 80s and perhaps even 90s in some spots. So after a cool bump in the road, get ready for a flirtation with summer later next week.

Have A Great Day!
