What's next? Weekend storm to get worse

Friday night Western Washington will have a lull between storms. Expect light wind and rains, but nothing like the severe weather the area saw Thursday night.

Saturday is when the big storm will move in. It’s moving in several hours earlier than anticipated, and it will be over quick. People can expect peak winds to last just an hour or two sometime between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Saturday’s storm winds will start in southern Washington and sweep north.

Coast: Grays Harbor, Long Beach, and Astoria could see hurricane force winds and gusts that top 70 mph.

Central Puget Sound: Rain will start around midday, and winds will pick up after. The area could see winds between 50-60 mph.

Southwest Interior: Chehalis and Olympia won’t see winds as high as the Coast or Puget Sound, as the area is a little more hilly.
