HOUSTON—Hurricane hunter planes were flying into the storm every few hours Monday to keep an accurate map of where Tropical Storm Isaac was headed.

The pilots collected real-time information about Isaac’s strength and sent updates back to the National Weather Service.

The military moved the planes from all over the Gulf Coast to Ellington Airport to keep them safe when the hurricane does hit.
