GRAND COULEE, Wash. – The weather is posing a large threat to officials battling a wildfire north of Grand Coulee in Douglas County.
Authorities say the incident is a State Mobilization authorized yesterday evening around 8:45 p.m.
Officials say the fire is over 400 acres.
15 residences are reportedly being threatened and the area is under a level 1 evacuation notification.
Officials say at the time of the mobilization, there were 120 personnel working with 25 wildland engines, 5 tenders and 4 aircraft on the fire. Two Hotshot hand crews have also been ordered.
The expected weather is posing a significant threat for the personnel with wind gusts expected to be 10 to 20 mph, 90 degree temperatures with a relative humidity below 20%.
