Seattle random stabbing
SEATTLE - Seattle police say a 26-year-old Seattle woman is a victim of what appears to be a random stabbing.
It happened around 7 p.m. Sunday in the 9000 block of Holman Road Northwest.
The victim told police she left work and noticed a man following her. She tried to evade him by walking into a nearby business only to encounter him again when she emerged.
According to police, the man came behind her and placed his arm over and across her body and stabbed her once in the lower back.
A witness in a passing vehicle stopped to assist her while the suspect walked away.
Police say that this kind of attack is fairly uncommon in Seattle. They have no motive. They recovered a 3-inch pocket knife in the street near the scene.
The suspect is described as white male in his mid-30s, heavyset, about 5-feet, 11-inches tall. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt or jacket and dark pants.
