GARDEN CITY, Idaho - Garden City Police are trying to find out why a man was carrying explosives when he led them on chase through Ada County.

Bruce Loggins was arrested in Mountain Home at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Police say the entire ordeal started Tuesday afternoon in Garden City.

Officers were looking for Loggins because he had two outstanding felony warrants out of Canyon County.

There was a chase that went down Chinden Boulevard and up Glenwood Street to Mountain View Drive, but it was called off because there were school children in the area.

On Tuesday night police learned Loggins was in Mountain Home.

Police also received several calls about a suspicious duffle bag in Garden City in the same area where Loggins was last spotted.

They found a black duffel bag with several explosive devices in it. While the Boise Bomb Squad removed the bag, 10 homes in the area were evacuated.

When Loggins was arrested this morning in Mountain Home police found several other explosives in his car.

Garden City Police say Loggins was allegedly involved in manufacturing explosive devices.

Police don't know what Loggins intentions were with the explosives, that is still under investigation.
