BOISE -- It seems that every year on Thanksgiving, we report on someone's turkey going up in flames.
So this year one fire department is showing folks how not to cook a frozen turkey.
Firefighters in Idaho Falls put on a demonstration to show that ice plus grease equals big flames.
They also explain the right way to fry a turkey.
"First and foremost you want to make sure your turkey is completely thawed and dry before you fry it," said Idaho Falls firefighter Jeff Parsons.
They also say not to overfill your fryer with oil and if the oil bubbles, allow the bubbles to settle before lowering the bird the rest of the way.
