Boeing claims to be one step closer to developing the next generation spy plane.

Boeing released video of the "Phantom Eye" drone taking off on its first flight Friday.

The aircraft spent 28 minutes in the air before landing at Edwards Air Force Base in California.

The flight wasn't perfect. Boeing says the landing gear dug into the lake bed and broke apart.

The drone is powered by liquid-hydrogen and is designed to fly up to four days without refueling.
