BOISE -- It's been six months today since three American hikers were detained in Iran.
One of the hikers, Sarah Shourd has family in Boise.
Shourd and two of her friends were detained in July when family of the hikers said the group accidentally crossed from Iraq into Iran.
Sarah's mother, Nora, says the last time she heard from the trio was three months ago.
"They had two vistis from the Swiss and they were very short visitis but we were able to get information from them in terms of their physical well-being," Nora Shourd said. "They looked well. They didn't seem to look ill. They were being treated well."
The families of Shourd, Shane Bauer, and Josh Fattal said they hope Iran will release the three on humanitarian grounds, but feel the need to prepare for possible charges.
Nora Shourd said they're not making much progress in getting the hikers released. The families have since hired a prominent lawyer in Iran to work toward getting their loved ones released.
