TACOMA, Wash. - On the street where the suspect lived, neighbors say his closed-up home looks exactly like it did when he was still inside.
"He was very quiet, kept to himself. It's the quietest house on the block," says Roseanne McCloud.
Neighbors outside what's believed to be his sister's house give a similar description.
"He would come over and help them. Seemed like a normal guy. It just goes to show, you never know," says Jamie Larson.
Most people did not know about his past.
Born in Bangkok, Thailand 42 years ago, Terapon Adhahn came to the United States as a young teen after his mother re-married an American service member.

Adhahn also enlisted. Records show he lived in New Jersey, Virginia and North Carolina during 1987.
Fort Lewis confirms he was a private stationed here in 1990 when he was accused of violently raping his half sister. He pleaded guilty to incest, was discharged from the Army and sentenced to 60 days in jail.
During a psychological evaluation, a doctor noted: "He is an angry and poorly controlled man with a plethora of psychological, emotional and behavioral problems. Long-term intensive psychotherapy and monitoring of his behavior will be necessary to ensure the safety of the community."
He completed six years of court supervised sexual deviancy treatment, but ten years after that treatment ended, he's a suspect once again.
"It scares me so bad to think my daughter was out there playing and he was next door," says Larson.
Aside from handyman work, neighbors aren't sure what Adhahn did for a living. Some even say they didn't know the van that police seized in the Zina Linnik kidnapping was even drivable.
Adhahn is being held in federal custody at the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma for possible immigration violations. He is a permanent legal resident, meaning he has a green card but is not a naturalized citizen. An immigration judge will decide whether he should be deported for his past crimes, but if that could change if he is charged with Zina Linnik's murder.
