PORTLAND, Ore. -- Firefighters were able to contain a 2-alarm fire to the roof of the 15-story Yeon Building in downtown Portland, officials said.
The fire broke out Thursday shortly after midnight and more than 60 firefighters responded to the high-rise.
The fire was controlled in 20 minutes. There was no word yet on the cause, but witnesses said a woman was on the roof holding an Oregon state flag and yelling, "Let it burn!"
Just a short time earlier and only about three blocks away, a woman was taken into custody by police after she appeared naked atop the Oregon Bank Building and climbed a flagpole, police said.
Investigators said they questioned her about the Yeon fire and did not think she was connected to that case. She was suffering from a mental health crisis and might have been under the influence of stimulants, according to Portland police Sgt. Pete Simpson.
