Welcome to the new NWCN.com!

NWCN has launched a new website to make your news-browsing experience easier, faster and more visually interesting.

"It has a very clean look and feel and the layout make it easy to find something interesting," said Mark Briggs, director of digital media at KING 5 and NWCN. "It's a modern update that plays well no matter how you're viewing it; from a desktop, laptop, tablet or phone."

The homepage layout allows us to display the most important local, national and international stories affecting you, with breaking news and weather alerts, or recent closures appearing at the very top. The top headlines will automatically cycle through when you first visit the home page, so you can see them all. But hover over any headline or other item and the headlines will stop rotating.

Just below those top stories, larger images, videos and galleries for each story make it easy to find what matters. And if you'd prefer the "list view," you can select that on the top right of our headlines grid.

On the right side, our "Right Now" feed shows the most recent stories, videos and galleries added to any section of NWCN.com. On the left, you'll find quick links leading to Newslinks, Northwest Families, Generation Gamer, and more. And whenever we're streaming live content a link will appear there.

Navigation tabs top each page, making it easier for you to find exactly what you're looking for. The clearly-labeled links lead to weather, local, national, traffic, sports and feature stories.

You can also navigate through these sections by using the left- and right-pointing arrows found below the tabs on each page.

Click WEATHER to get the latest forecast and an option to search for another location's forecast. Links on the left lead to local radar images, weather cameras, closures and more.

The LOCAL tab has your latest news from Western Washington and the greater Northwest. The NATION NOW tab provides a look at the latest national news from USA TODAY so you can keep up with the world beyond the region.

Our TRAFFIC tab has an interactive map so you can steer clear of traffic jams, construction zones or other roadway problems. We'll also post the latest closures and traffic alerts.

Click the SPORTS tab for the latest news, videos and photos from the Seahawks, Blazers, Mariners, Timbers, Huskies, Ducks and Storm, plus the latest high school coverage.

The ABOUT page tells you even more about NWCN. Meet the team, follow along with our Twitter feed, contact us, scope out job opportunities, look into advertising with us and more.

For those of you who subscribed to our RSS feeds for the old NWCN.com, please resubscribe here for the latest updates.

We hope you enjoy as you explore the new site, and we'll continue to fine-tune features to make your news-browsing experience the best it can be. If you have any feedback or questions, contact Mark Briggs at mbriggs@king5.com or (206) 448-4537.
