From mid to late afternoon, we'll have a chance of thunder or ice pellet showers. Highs will be near 50.

Peak wind speeds could reach 45 mph around the Sound, and up to 55 possible north of Everett, through the Strait and along the coast.

In the mountains, a winter storm warning is in effect, as well as an avalanche warning. A foot of snow or more could fall at or above the snow level of 4,000 feet.

Thursday, the snow level will drop, possibly as low as 500 feet. Precipitation will be more persistent in the convergence zone north of Seattle, with some snowfall possible. The isn't likely to accumulate.

A few thunderstorms are also possible in the convergence zone.

The weather is expected to dry out after Thursday, with sunbreaks Friday and dry weather likely by Sunday. Highs over the weekend will be near 50.
