If you think your toddler is cranky when she misses a nap now, wait 'til you see what happens down the road. Researchers say skipping naps can cause life long problems. Scientists found that depriving toddlers of even a single daily nap resulted in more anxiety, lower levels of joy and interest, and reduced problem-solving abilities. Over time, they say, those feelings of anxiety become the norm. So, even if your toddler won't nap, encouraging them to take at least 20 minutes of quiet time will help them and help you.
