SEATTLE - Pharrell is bringing Happy to the Seattle Seahawks season opener.
The platinum-selling musician will perform outside of CenturyLink Field on Sept. 4 before the Seahawks play the Green Bay Packers as the NFL kicks off its 95th season.
Seattle-based rockers Soundgarden will kick off the free event with a performance. Part of it will air on the NFL Network.

Pop singer Ariana Grande will sing the national anthem. It will air on NBC and the NFL Network.
The sold-out game can be seen live on KING5.Kickoff is 5:30 p.m.
The choice of Pharrell is not a huge surprise. His hit Happy has become one of the songs of the year, and he will be one of the new judges on the upcoming season of NBC's The Voice.
