SEATTLE -- Seattle Police arrested a man they say kidnapped his one-month-old daughter and threatened to kill the child s mother.
Eric Carney, 39, was arrested at a Capitol Hill apartment building just after 5 p.m. Tuesday. His baby daughter, who was also in the apartment, was not harmed.
Police said Carney approached his child s mother in the 5200 block of 15 Ave. N.E. in the University District just before noon Tuesday, threatened her, and then grabbed a stroller carrying the baby.
The woman tried to grab the stroller back, but Carney attacked her and fled with the child, police say.
Carney had previously been ordered to have no contact with the woman.
Police said Carney has a history of violent crimes, auto theft and animal cruelty.
