A Boeing spokesperson confirmed on Friday that the company will lay off 800 workers, as well as reduce its overall workforce by 2,000 or more in 2013.

According to a company spokesperson, the layoffs will be primarily of workers in the 787 and 747 post-assembly facilities, all machinists, in Everett.

The additional 2,000 to 2,300 positions will be elimated through attrition and transfers.

No employees have been notified of layoffs yet.
