BELLEVUE, Wash. Five people with Western Washington ties have been confirmed as being among the nine people killed in a tour bus crash in Eastern Oregon over the weekend. Another 38 people were injured.
The Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office said Wednesday Chun Ho Bahn, 63, from Bothell was killed Sunday. Her husband, 63-year-old Youn Bahn, is hospitalized.
Oun Hong Jung, 67, and his wife, Joong Wha Kim, 63, of South Korea were also killed. Police said the couple had been staying with relatives near Bothell.
Police also said Yong Ho Lee, 75, of Lynnwood died in the crash.
Friends of passenger Richard Sohn gathered to remember him Wednesday night. Sohn, 19, was with his mom, dad, and a group of travelers on their way home from a sightseeing trip when their bus crashed 200 feet off of Interstate 84 near Pendleton, Oregon.
Sohn was a student at Seattle Pacific University.
We are supposed to move in today. Classes are supposed to start. He's not there and it is kind of tough, said Eugene Lee, Sohn s friend.
Among the passengers fighting for her life is Eun Sook Uhm. Her son said most of his mom's ribs are fractured and doctors are concerned about her spine and lungs.
The Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office said all the victims have now been identified. At least ten of the 47 victims are from the Puget Sound area.
The NTSB is investigating the cause of the bus crash.
