SEATTLE -- It appears Grey's Anatomy actor Patrick Dempsey is getting into the coffee business.

Late Thursday night, the actor tweeted out that, We met the green monster, looked her in the eye, and...SHE BLINKED! We got it! Thank you Seattle!

Dempsey, who gained the nickname McDreamy on the TV show Grey's Anatomy set in a fictional Seattle hospital, said last week that he wanted to rescue the chain. Dempsey and his group were among sevenbidders, including Starbucks, who bid for Tully's Thursday.

Tully's Coffee, which has 47 company-owned locations in Washington and California, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in October.

Also in the running is Baristas Coffee, which operates a chain of drive-thru espresso stands featuring female employees in skimpy outfits.

The auction process is not public and therefore an official outcome is expected to be filed in court Friday.
