A student at Western Washington University died Monday after falling from a window at Nash Hall, the school said.

The student's name is being withheld pending notification of family.

The 18-year-old student landed on concrete in the tennis court area behind the residence building shortly before 10 a.m., the Bellingham Herald reported. He died at the scene.

It's not clear how the student fell; WWU said the University Police department is investigating the case as a possible suicide.

WWU said counseling is being provided at Nash Hall and is available to students by calling the Counseling Center at 650-3164.

More to follow.
