LONGVIEW, Wash. -- Humane Society staff have seized 33 animals from a filthy home in Longview, Washington.

Working off a tip, the Cowlitz County Humane Society found nearly three dozen animals, including dogs, guinea pigs and birds, in a home with two children, ages 10 and 11.

Their mother toldPortland's KGWthat poor health kept her from keeping their home clean.

It was a problem and I'd ask my boys to help me, and they wouldn't and I'm on oxygen and I've got a bad back, said Pat Hendrickson.

Hendrickson agreed to give up all of her animals. In return, the Humane Society won t press charges.

The two boys are still with their mother but won t return to the house until its cleaned up.
