SEATTLE -- Police are searching for a truck driver who hit and killed a pedestrian in downtown Seattle Thursday afternoon.
The incident happened at 9th and James Street. Police said a pedestrian was crossing the busy intersection when the person was struck by a large truck.
I looked up and I saw a large lime-green truck coming down the street. And there was a woman trapped underneath the back tires on the passenger's side, said a witness. The truck kept going and the woman was dragged halfway down the block.
Police are reviewing surveillance video in the area. No description of the truck has been released. They say it could be possible the driver of the truck did not realize he or she hit someone.
Police have not released details of the victim.
The area around 9th and James has reopened after it was closed for several hours for police investigation; there is no estimated time when the area will reopen to traffic. Buses have been rerouted and drivers should avoid the area.
