When we moved into our new old house recently I was shocked to discover there were no phone jacks in the entire home. Truthfully, the only reason I installed a landline is so that my kids can use it in case of an emergency. Once they're old enough for cell phones I figured I'd ditch the landline just as 40 percent of Americans have done.
This week's Northwest Families story about a 4 year old boy who couldn't find his mom's cell phone when she collapsed certainly makes me reconsider that position. Fortunately, this kid was fast on his feet and figured out another way to communicate when his mom needed him most. Click on the video to watch their story.
