PORTLAND - Portland's annual Christmas Tree lighting kicked off the holiday season in Pioneer Courthouse Square Friday at 6 p.m.

The 28th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony festivities started at 5:30 p.m. and included a community sing-a-long led by Thomas Lauderdale and members of Pink Martini and friends.

KGW news anchors Brenda Braxton and Russ Lewis hosted the event.

The annual tree lighting attracts about 15,000 people to the square.
