BOISE -- After a commanding 50-14 win over Utah State, the Boise State Broncos are ready to go bowling.

At a news conference Sunday evening, the Broncos announced that they have accepted an invite to play in the Maaco Bowl Las Vegas. That bowl is December 22 and will be against Utah, who has already accepted their invite.

I think it fits very much to what we were hoping for, said Coach Chris Petersen. It's a good date. I think if you're not playing in one of those BCS National Championship games, it's good to play before Christmas.

The bowl will be at 6 p.m. MST on ESPN.

The location is convienient for fans, family -- not to say what there is to do there beside the football game, Petersen said. To cap it off we have a very very good opponent - that might be the most important thing.

The University of Utah accepted their bowl invitation on December 1. The Utes will bring a nine-game bowl winning streak to Sam Boyd Stadium.

Tickets for the 2010 Maaco Bowl Las Vegas are on sale now. Prices of remaining tickets are $35, $55 and $100 and can be reserved by phone at 1-866-388-FANS, online at or in person at the Thomas & Mack Center box office.
