ARDEN, Wash. -- Firefighters fighting the Slide Creek wildfire burning in Arden, Washington near Colville say they've made good progress overnight, but dozens of structures are still at risk.

As of 9:30 a.m. Friday, the Washington Department of Natural Resources estimates the fire is 1,000 acres and 0% contained.

Brett Walker, with DNR , says there are no official evacuation orders in place as of 8:00 a.m. Friday, but the people who own structures that are in the fire's vacinity are aware that could change.

Walker says the fire has destroyed two homes and 5-7 other structures. At least one of the other structures was a barn.

Walker says the firefighters are working to get a containment line around the fire and there is some good progress happening there, but they have no estimate of a containment percentage as of the morning briefing. He says the winds are dying down significantly, which will help firefighters today.

The Red Cross closed the shelter at Colville High School Friday afternoon
