Parenting is a tough job. Parenting two chronically ill children is a really, really tough job. Lisa Greene and her husband know all about it. The Seattle area couple is raising two kids with cystic fibrosis, a disease that causes chronic respiratory infections.

Every day is a struggle, but Lisa knows she s not alone. One in every two children in the U.S. struggles at some time with a chronic health condition such as asthma, diabetes, or heart problems, according to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. Lisa s own personal struggles led her to a program called Love and Logic. Now, she travels the country teaching parenting courses based on the Love and Logic program. Parents learn how to motivate their kids to make wise choices about food, medication and therapy; how to put an end to power struggles; and how to talk to your child about their health problems.

Lisa Greene's classes are called Parenting Children with Health Issues . Her next class is Tuesday May 15th 6:30 to 9:30 pm at Overlake Hospital, PACCAR Education Center, Bellevue, Washington.
