PORTLAND -- A wrong-way driver crashed at about 4:20 a.m. Monday in the southbound lanes of Interstate-205 on the Glenn Jackson Bridge, creating a massive backup on the Clark County commute into Portland.

The tractor-trailer also struck another car (pictured below), and its driver was taken to the hospital with traumatic injuries. She was expected to survive.

Investigators said they believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The collision was near the Washington side of the Columbia River.

As of 9:30 a.m., all northbound lanes were open and two lanes open southbound.

A second wreck backed up traffic on the best detour. The left lane westbound was blocked by a wreck about 6 a.m. on SR 14 about at the Columbia House Boulevard exit.
