NEW ORLEANS, Wash. -- Former Gonzaga Prep Bullpup, Washington State Cougar and New Orleans Saint Steve Gleason accepted a huge donation on behalf of his non-profit.

Chase Bank donated $350,000 to help fund his house for ALS and MS patients.

In 2011, Gleason revealed he s battling ALS, or Lou Gehrig s disease.

He communicates through a computer that generates his voice.

As you know, I was diagnosed with ALS two years ago. A terminal illness can really mess with your head. Honestly, it makes you want to run away to the moon, he said.

Despite struggle with the disease, Gleason showed he has not lost his sense of humor. He was asked what the most humbling experience his fight with ALS is.

I tried to answer that question for him, but I didn t want to put words in his mouth, former teammate Scott Fujita joked.

Gleason gained notoriety in the NFL for block a punt during a 2007 game between the Saints and the Atlanta Falcons.
