PORTLAND-- The Oregon Zoo recently became home for three black bear cubs recently orphaned in the wild.

Wildlife officials brought the cubs to the zoo on Friday. Officials believe the cub's mother was scared off during a logging operation, according to the zoo's website.

The cubs will be cared for until they move to a new home in Texas. The cubs are about one month old and weigh between two and three pounds, according to the zoo.

The Oregon Zoo veterinary medical center is feeling a bit like a nursery these days, said a post on the zoo's site.

The medical center is also caring for three orphaned cougars.
