BOISE -- A yellow air quality is in effect in Ada and Canyon counties.

The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality is prohibiting any open outdoor burning in the two counties.

The DEQ urges people to postpone strenuous activities until the air quality improves and also take the following precautions to help improve the air quality:

  • Limit driving
  • Combine trips & errands
  • Avoid woodstove and fireplace use
  • Do not burn outdoors

The forecast Air Quality Index is 64 for ozone.
