SPOKANE, Wash. -- The two suspects accused of beating Delbert Belton have had prior run-ins with the law.

Demetrius Glenn, 16, and Kenan Adams-Kinard, 16, face murder and robbery charges for the death of World War II veteran Delbert Belton, 88.

Court documents said Glenn pleaded guilty to an assault and felony riot charge back in January. Police said the attack happened over a year earlier in September 2011.
The documents said Glenn and several other individuals attacked a teenaged boy in Rochester Park in northeast Spokane. Court documents said witnesses saw Glenn hit the victim with a stick that had a nail attached to the end and Glenn admitted to detectives he did it. Documents said the victim fell on the ground and three suspects in the group kicked him several times before he could run away.

Glenn served no time in that case. Records show he s due in court next month for a misdemeanor malicious mischief case where he s accused of a damaging a homeowner s garage door back in February.

Adams-Kinard has been charged with a few misdemeanors of theft and fourth degree assault back in May. Authorities said he stole a woman s cell phone on an STA Bus and fled.

Documents show he served a little more than a month and prosecutors said he showed up to court with $400 to pay the victim back.

Prosecutors said the murder case trumps any future court dates for other cases.
