WINLOCK, Wash. Detectives are combing an area near Winlock, Wash. after several tips that a missing teen s body was thrown down a well on the property.

Kayla Croft-Payne (pictured) was reported missing in May of 2010 after friends and family had not seen her for several days. She was 18 years old at the time of her disappearance and was described as a white woman with blue eyes and brown hair.

Locals call the property where detectives are searching The Farm, which is located about halfway between Longview and Chehalis in Washington.

Investigators dug through piles of garbage for more than 16 hours Wednesday and Thursday and got a pump to drain a 35-foot well on the property, said Deputy Stacy Brown with the Lewis County Sheriff s Office.

Detectives also used a backhoe to excavate another garbage-filled well on the property, but after two days of searching, all deputies found was a dog carcass.

The search was long and exhaustive. The detectives worked very hard and were extremely diligent and thorough in the process of searching this property. This case has been troubling for our office and we still hope to find Kayla and bring closure to her family and friends, said Sheriff Steve Mansfield in a press released to KGW.

Anyone with any information was asked to call the Lewis County Sheriff s Office at (360) 748-9286.
