Pierce County Sheriff's officers found Sara Barrett dead in a hotel room in Tacoma early Thursday morning.

They had been searching for Sara since her husband claimed that he killed her. The couple was estranged and had three boys.

The suspect is 43-year-old Tony Barrett of Puyallup. Police took Tony into custody in an overnight pursuit that ended across the Narrows Bridge in Gig Harbor.

Tacoma police first spotted Tony Barrett driving the wrong way in downtown Tacoma around 2:30 a.m.

After police stopped his car with a spike strip, the suspect and police scuffled after Tony advanced on officers with a crowbar. He is currently in Tacoma General Hospital with minor injuries.

Tony Barrett was convicted in Pierce County of third degree assault and domestic violence in 2008.
