SPOKANE VALLEY--Firefighters in Spokane Valley battled a car fire that spread to a nearby apartment Sunday afternoon.

It happened shortly after 1 p.m. near Wilbur and Ermina.

The owner of the vehicle says they were changing a fuse in the Chrysler 300 in their garage. Once they finished they noticed smoke coming from the vehicle. Worried a fire might start; they pushed the vehicle out of the garage onto the driveway and called 911.

By the time firefighters arrived the entire car had gone up in flames and the fire began to spread to the apartment above.

Firefighters quickly knocked down the blaze.

There is some smoke and fire damage to the front window area of the apartment. The owners of the apartment are now being let back inside to gather some of their belongings.
