SEATTLE A Vancouver, B.C. beauty queen will not get to compete for the title of Miss Universe Canada because pageant officials say she was born male.

Several media outlets report Jenna Talackova, 23, had already reached the finals in the Miss Vancouver competition before her secret was discovered and she was kicked out.

Jenna Talackova from Vancouver, British Columbia will not compete in the 2012 Miss Universe Canada competition because she did not meet the requirements to compete despite having stated otherwise on her entry form. We do, however, respect her goals, determination and wish her the best, the pageant posted on its website.

Pageant officials reportedly claim Talackova claimed on her registration form that she was born a female. Somehow, they became suspicious and confronted her about it. She allegedly admitted she was transgender.

Some reports indicate she may have had gender reassignment surgery as recently as four years ago.

Talackova s profile was removed from the Miss Universe Canada website.
