SANDPOINT, Idaho -- A court hearing for a driver accused of killing a cyclist north of Blanchard has been delayed because the investigation is incomplete.

A preliminary hearing had been scheduled for Wednesday to determine if there is enough evidence to try Bowdeen Sui-lan Kahuhu on a charge of felony vehicular manslaughter.

The Bonner County Daily Bee reports the prosecution and defense have moved to release the 31-year-old Newport, Wash., woman from the Bonner County Jail on her own recognizance.

Idaho State Police say Kahuhu hit a 17-year-old Spokane-to-Sandpoint relay runner and her 46-year-old chaperone, Patricia Ann Lambie of Greenacres, Wash.

The teen survived the early morning crash on Aug. 14, but Lambie was killed.

Court records say Kahuhu told a trooper she fell asleep.
