MEDFORD, Ore. -- Kyron Horman's mother Desiree Young and step-father Tony Young spoke to reporters from Medford Tuesday, reiterating theirpleas for Kyron's step-mother to cooperate with investigators.

Reading from a statement, Young called on Terri Horman to do the right thing and cooperate.

You need to do what is right. Not for me, not for Tony, not for Kaine and not even for Kyron. You need to do it for Kiara because she needs to see that you did the right thing to bring her brother home, Desiree said.

Kiara is Kyron's 19-month-old half-sister and Terri's daughter with Kaine Horman.

This latest press conference was just two days after bombshell accusations leaked into the media that Terri allegedly tried to have her husband killed and just hours after a reliable source toldKGW TV in Portland thatpolice were ready to arrest Horman in connection with that plot.

Yet Young refused to engage in what she called mud slinging and would not discuss the alleged murder-for-hire or any of the other relationship details that have hounded this case. Instead, she talked about her little boy and her life without him.

I watch videos of him because it comforts me to see him smile and honestly I just pretend like he's here, she said.

Visibly emotional, Young said she and her husband, along with Kyron's father, Kaine, still believe Kyron is alive.

We're parents. We still expect him to get out of bed every day and come and see us. So of course we believe he's alive until we're told otherwise, said Young.

The Youngs said they won't give up and Kyron's southern Oregon home is still prepared for his return.

Terri Horman's lawyer did not immediately return a call for comment Tuesday.
