PORTLAND, Ore. -- The driver of a car involved in a wreck on I-205 was cited for DUII by both the Portland Police Bureau and the Washington State Patrol.
The accident covered 700-feet along the southbound lanes of the Glenn Jackson Bridge, across the border of the two states, according to Portland police.
Witnesses told police that about 2:20 a.m., a silver 1998 Honda Civic and a red Pontiac were driving recklessly across the bridge.
Just inside the Oregon border, the Honda struck a semi in the left rear axle, causing its two trailers to drive over, and somewhat flatten the car.
The semi rig then tipped onto its right wheels and crashed into the center divider, settling on its side. The Conway truck driver, Brenton Reimer, was not hurt.
The driver and passenger crawled out of the Honda and ran to the northbound lanes, trying to flag down passing cars. No one stopped and they came back to the Honda. An ambulance took them to Southwest Washington Medical Center with minor injuries.
Ilya Anikin, 21, was cited by Portland police for DUII and reckless driving and the WSP cited Anikin for DUII. The accident all took place along an ODOT work zone.
Anyone with information about the red Pontiac should contact Portland police at (503) 823-4357. The Pontiac did not have damages from the crash.
