SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. -- A 4-year-old Sedro Woolley boy was shot and killed on Sunday, and police are searching for the mother's boyfriend.
On Sunday afternoon, police recovered a gun just a few doors down from the crime scene.
Police believe 25-year-old Trevor Braymiller shot his girlfriend's son then took off.
The suspected shooter, the boy's mom, two other adults and another child were in the home at the time of the shooting.
Rueben Dreyer says Braymiller asked for a ride out of town.
He said he went outside in the garage to smoke a cigarette and he heard a boom and he went back into the house and his son wasn't moving, said Dreyer.
He must have gotten up and got (the gun), that's all he told me, said Dreyer
Braymiller is a convicted felon.
Our concern is that he s going to force a confrontation with us in an emotional state, said Lt. Lin Tucker of Sedro Woolley PD.
After neighbor Aaron Spoelstra posted about the shooting online, Braymiller's mother called him.
She said it s not going to end well, he said.
Officers were looking for Braymiller throughout the county, pulling over cars and questioning his family and friends, hoping to find him.
Wood said Braymiller, a convicted felon, is considered to be armed and dangerous.
