PORTLAND A woman in Northeast Portland said a man punched her and carjacked her vehicle late Wednesday afternoon.
She called 911 just after it happened, around 4 p.m., and told police the man had taken her vehicle from 18201 NE Portal Way and fled in it.
Police quickly swarmed the area and spotted a car that matched the description near the intersection of NE 122nd Avenue and Airport Way.
Officers were able to make what they called a high-risk traffic stop on the victim's vehicle and took one person into custody, according to Sgt. Pete Simpson with the Portland Police Bureau.
Simpson said the investigation was still developing and additional information would not be available until later in the evening.
He did not share any details about the victim's condition, either.
